PrepRole vs other interview practice
PrepRole is for rehearsing a real job out loud: Target Role from the job post, Candidate Background from your resume, spoken Mock Sessions, and a Scorecard with Top Fixes rewritten from your answers. Peer mocks and question banks do not do that combination.
Peer mock interviews
Tools like Pramp pair you with another Candidate. That is useful for live conversation practice. PrepRole instead runs an AI Interviewer tailored to your Target Role and Candidate Background, on your schedule, with a written Scorecard afterward.
Platforms that sell real interviewer time
Services like Interviewing.io book practice with human interviewers. PrepRole is not a substitute for that: it is deliberate rehearsal between those sessions — voice-first, role-specific, and free to try as a guest.
Generic question banks and flashcards
Lists and spaced-repetition decks help you recall topics. They do not make you answer out loud under interview pressure, and they are not built from the job post you are applying to. PrepRole starts from that job post and your resume.
Silent coding platforms
LeetCode-style drills exercise algorithms. PrepRole's Technical Deep-Dive uses a Code Pad the AI Interviewer reads so it can ask about what you wrote — nothing is executed on our servers — and the session is still a spoken interview.
When PrepRole is the wrong tool
If you only need human feedback from a senior interviewer, book that. If you only need to grind algorithm volume, use a coding platform. PrepRole is for rehearsing the round you will actually get, out loud, for one Target Role.
